Congratulations to Jarrett Payne of Sidney. He is the recipient of the Greater Cincinnati Scholarship. Jarrett has committed to swim for UA. He is a four-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. He is the 2024 Division 1 High School State Champion in the 100 Backstroke and 200 Individual Medley. He was class president in high school from 2021-23 and served on the student government association. He graduated from Sidney High with a 4.5 GPA, which was third in his class. He got a head start in college by enrolling at Edison State Community College and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He was a lifeguard at the YMCA and has volunteered for a variety of organizations in his community. He is enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business at UA and will soon decide his major. When he made his official swim visit to campus, he attended a football and volleyball game and toured campus. That’s when he decided to spend his next four years at The University of Alabama, #WhereLegendsAreMade.
