As the deadline for students to apply for admission and scholarships at The University of Alabama approaches, please be aware of several changes that took place this year.
When a student applies for admission, they also complete the application for scholarships. This is applicable to both the UA application and the Common App.
Once admitted, every student will have the opportunity to apply for additional scholarships from various areas throughout UA. These are available in the Alabama Scholarship Award Manager(ASAM) system via their myBama account.
Once signed into their account, they can access ASAM on the Admissions & Scholarships page under the Scholarships section.

Once they click on to the ASAM system, click on the SIGN IN button located on the top right of the screen.

Several of these applications will have a “check-the-box” questions where you only need to self-identify to be considered for them. Other questions on an application may ask for documentation, such as a Key Club membership card or short essay, that must be uploaded. Some of the applications may ask the same questions, and the easiest way to manage that is to save any answers to a word document, and then on the next application, cut-and-paste the answers into it.
Any student who completes the UA National Alumni Association scholarship application will be considered for all scholarships in which they meet the criteria, regardless of any previous affiliation with the National Alumni Association. This applies to CrimsonAti scholarships.
For those students who have a parent and/or grandparent that graduated from UA, questions regarding our member-based, legacy scholarships are also found on this application.
All of these applications need to be completed soon, as the deadline to submit them is December 5.
Please share this information with any student who has or may be interested in applying to The University of Alabama for the 26-27 academic year.
